Electromagnetic actuators

We focus on the development of new concepts of actuators in all possible forms. Primarily, we focus on valves. We develop new concepts of closing mechanism which gives us the opportunity to focus on optimization of specific parameters (max. pressure, min. closing time, etc.). Secondly, we develop actuators for any specific situation (linear space actuator, development of new rivet machine, etc.)

In valve development, the best prototype we have is able to hold more than 100 bar with a closing time of less than 5 ms. This valve is mainly developed as a valve for space engineering. Nevertheless, this valve can easily be used in high-pressure and low-temperature storage systems. The name Hodor was derived from the actuation parameters.

Future challenges

  • Valves - increasing reliability of high-speed and high-pressure actuation
  • Linear actuator - flying to space
